The Great
Dorset Steam Fair, 2009 |
|
|
|

I've seen pictures of this ride before, and
have always wondered what it would be like. The train travels around the
big oval of track, while the track spins around. Look at
this video
to see how crazy it looks while going. I didn't think it was quite as
bad as it looked while riding it, and thought it was a lot of fun. |
|

Due to the limited time I had at the fair
before I had to get back on the coach back home I had to to an
abbreviated tour of the fairground, skipping quite a few rides. I reckon
if I had the time I could have spent the entire day just doing the
funfair field. |
|

This ride is a walkthrough horror ride. |
|

Here are two of the many stalls at the fair,
and a Disney themed funhouse in the background. |
|

This is a spectacular looking ranger ride. |
|

This is one of several sets of Dodgems at the
fair. Behind it is an afterburner style ride (Vortex at Thorpe Park)
which I paid very little attention to due to the large number of other
major thrill rides vying for my attention. You can tell it was a good
fair if I'm overlooking a ride like an afterburner. |
|

One of the main attractions at the park was
this spinning mouse coaster. |
|

At the far end of the fair was this giant
wheel, offering views of the entire Steam fair. |
|

Another major attraction was this travelling
log flume. |
|

That merry go round had to be one of the
fanciest kids rides I've ever seen. In the centre ring are a load of
cars that go up and down, while all the outer ones have some sort of
rocking or spinning movement, or buttons you that play sound effects. |
