After a brief taster of Europa Park yesterday it was now time for a full day at the park. I'd taken a look at the website for the park before hand and thought we'll never do all of this in one day. I was right, but I think we did pretty well, the only main ride we missed was the Matterhorn Blitz, a wild mouse roller coaster. It's definitely a park that ideally you'd spend a couple of days at so you have a chance to explore and take things in at you're own pace, and so you have time to see some of the many shows they do. Definitely one I'd like to visit again in the not to distant future.
It is Germany's answer to Disney, with some of it's extravagantly themed areas and large number of shows and family attractions, not everything is quite as extravagant, but it certainly rivals Disney and it has a greater range of roller coasters and water rides than Disney.

The first thing we had was an E.R.S. on Silver Star. To do this we had the amusing experience of being taken to the main entrance street and walking past a large crowd of people waiting to get in to the park.

They look happy about being left behind don't they.

Here's the sign on the entrance of the very modern looking queue area.

Silver Star is sponsored by Mercedes, and the queue building contains an exhibition hall dedicated to Mercedes.

At just under 240 feet this is Europe's tallest roller coaster. It's also the only non Mack roller coaster at the park being a B+M creation.

The E.R.S. on Silver Star was cut shorter than originally planned. We didn't mind too much as we managed to get on two of the parks big coasters before the queues for them got that big.

Europa Park is divided into quite a few themed areas, most of which are themed around a country in Europe. This is the French area which Silver Star  is in.

Also in the French area is there big indoor roller coaster Euro Sat. Here you can see how it's been turned in to a giant pumpkin for Halloween. They even changed some of the lights inside to match the Halloween theme.

That Jack O Lantern stares at you wherever you go.

A lot of it is still based on the usual Space Station theme. Here you see the loading station.
