After our
visit to Holiday Park it was on to Wild Und FreizeitPark, a park that tops
Alton Towers in terms of being in the middle of nowhere. To get there we
had to descend and then ascend a couple of steep mountain roads on the
edge of some huge drops. We where glad we weren't in the coach for this
one, and where instead following in the more manoeuvrable minibus. We made
sure we gave the coach a wide berth, especially when we came to a narrow
bridge where we didn't want the weight of the coaches and the
minibus on it at once. How did they ever get the HGVs and cranes necessary
for building their Bobsled coaster too the park?
Wild Und Freizeitpark is a pleasant wildlife park, with a nice amusement
area, including quite a few self operational rides. We had enough time to
walk around the wildlife trail and try some of the unusual rides before
heading over for an E.R.S. on their bobsleigh coaster the Hot Ride. |

Here we are, all wondering
where the hell we are going? |
|

If this was any further from
civilisation you could set a horror film here. |
|

Instead it's the location of a
wildlife park. |
|

Little bunny rabbits and
guinea pigs, arrrrrrrgh. |
|

Baby guinea pigs, arrrrrrrgh. |
|

Oh, this one isn't as cute.
This is a South American Nandus, a close relative of the Rhea. The park
also has the aforementioned rheas and ostriches on display. |
|

I think these are Barbary
Sheep, a native of North Africa. |
|

I think these are fallow deer
and stags. |
|

At this point we started to
encounter a load of fairy tale animals. Two of the three little pigs. |
|

The Billy Goat Gruff.
These are actually Ibexes, for any zoo tycoon fans. |
