Our first day of the trip saw us going to Walibi World. Getting to it by public transport is very easy, with a regular shuttle bus from the nearest train station Harderwijk.

This is the fountain at the entrance of the park. It's got the parks name on it in case you've forget it.

This is the main entrance area which you wait in if you arrive before the parks opening time. When it opens there is a pretty nice opening ceremony with the park mascots pressing a button to raise the shutters.

Walibi World had a good collection of souvenirs on offer in the shops at the front, with a large range of items with the Walibi on.

After the opening ceremony everyone was heading towards the back of the park, so we took the first right turn to do that area while it was empty. There was a short wait until the first rides opened, but we were next to the petting farm, so popped in to that for 10 minutes.

As well as the usual goats and chickens they also had baby Rheas and baby Llamas. After we gave this one some of the food for sale it followed us around the farm.

The first ride we did was the Crazy River. It's a nicely themed log flume in a compact area, which includes a backwards drop.

Our first coaster of the trip was The Flying Dutchman Gold Mine. It has a themed entrance and themed cars, but once out the stations it's really just a standard factory model mouse coaster.

After the Mouse we headed over to do the parks small family coaster. We had to come back and do this at the end of the day though, but we were give one of my favourite reasons for a ride not be open ever. We were told they couldn't let us on this ride because they didn't have a working fire extinguisher. I can't help but feel that extinguisher is the theme park equivalent to the little plastic whistle on an airplane lifejacket.

The next ride we did was the parks Splash Battle. It was the first time we've done a Splash battle having missed the Flamingo Land one last year by visiting a couple of months too early.

This ride is based around a pretty simple idea. You have a water cannon on your pod, and the spectators have access to their own water cannons. That's the basic idea of the ride, but it's a basic ride that's a lot of fun. It's not one to do if you don't want to get wet, but on a hot day it's incredibly fun.
