On day 3 of our trip we visited a park called Efteling. It's a very well themed park with a pleasant garden feel with a great selection of rides.
I had an interesting conversation with my girlfriend about which we preferred, this or Walibi World. I reckon this is the better park, but I enjoyed Walibi world more. I think there where a few reasons for this. One was this park was a lot busier, it didn't reach really bad standards, but it did mean longer queues, and made it more crowded and less leisurely to walk around. Also it's quite a complex park, especially if you don't speak Dutch, so it's one you need to know your way around to get the best out of, which we didn't on our first visit. Also it's a park that to get the most out of you need to have the time to go round at your own leisurely pace, ideally by spending a couple of days at it. We didn't have that luxury so had some pressure to get round it in order to do most of the big attractions in one day.
It's definitely a park we want to return to, ideally on a quieter day, so we can enjoy a more leisurely day at it.

The first thing we did was head over to the Anderrijk area of the park. The Bobsleigh coaster wasn't open yet, so we headed over to the Piranha Rapids. The second South American themed rapids we'd done on this trip. The theming is a lot more prevalent here than on the ones at Walibi World.

A photo of the ride station, and the queuing area, which was thankfully empty first thing in the day.

With a great pace, great theming and some great features found throughout the ride this was one of the best old school style set of rapids I've ever been on.

According to Wickipedia this was the first ever set of river rapids built in Europe.

By the time we'd done the Rapids the Bobsleigh was open.

This was definitely the surprise package of the trip. We were expecting something along the lines of the Avalanche at Blackpool, but this a much more intense and exciting ride.

Being set in all this woodland also adds a lot to the excitement.

Another shot of the great Bobsled coaster.

A shot of one of the themed litter bins found by the Bobsleigh.

After the Bobsleigh we headed to the Ruigrijk section of the park. This is a very well themed Seastorm ride called the Polka Marina. Sadly we skipped it when we first went past when the queue was short in order to get the 3 roller coasters in this area done. When we got back the queue had shot up, so we never got to try it.
