Numbers 201 to 250

This is an ongoing record of the roller coasters I have ridden. I've numbered every roller coaster to show the order which I rode them in. I've also put an extra number in brackets. This number is the coaster count of English roller coasters I've ridden, as I thought it would be interesting to keep track of that in this log as well.

Although I don't want to debate what class as a count too much, here I think I need to give a bit of an explanation.
My rule for bobsleighs and waterslides is they have to function as a complete circuit (or theoretically as a shuttle coaster) without the sleigh or raft having to be lifted off the track to return it to the departing station. Otherwise it's really a slide, not a coaster.
Some of the newer water rides, which are like a water slide with larger rafts. The Reverchon ones I don't count as they have a large part that relies on the flow of the water for the thrills of the ride.
There's one ride I've been on called the Oxygenerarium at Park Asterix that almost qualifies, but at the end it has a small pool to transfer the rafts back to the station. In that its possible for the rafts to overtake each other meaning they're not following a predetermine route like they would on a roller coaster.
On this though the only water section is a small transfer section, the rest is all a gravity powered descent down a large chute, and it's not possible for a boat to overtake another one, so I count it as a coaster.

It's Mouse coaster number two at Weiner Prater, and my 9th spinning mouse coaster.

The Flying Dutchman Goldmine
Walibi World

My next trip of 2008 was to Holland, which was almost a house swap with one of my Uncles, as we stayed at his house, while he was in the U.K. staying at my Mum's (much larger) house. While in Holland we took the opportunity to do some of it's Theme Parking hi-lights, starting with Walibi World.

The Amsterdam Dungeon

We were planning a trip to Toverland as well, but the bus going from the train station to the park never turned up. With no other transport options readily available we had to cut our losses and head to Amsterdam. Hopefully we'll get Toverland and Troy done on our next trip.

The Dragon
Stevens Funfair - Eastleigh

I found out about this on a coach trip I did to Marwell Zoo in a day off I had left after the Holland trip. On it we passed this Funfair and the local train station on the coach. Having spotted this I made a quick trip on the train a couple of days later to get this done.

Bobbejaanland

Having already done Holland in 2008, and with it being comparatively cheap to do on the Eurostar, I decided to do a short trip to Belgium at the end of the 2008 season to visit some of the main parks there.

This consists of a set of 2 duelling Wild Mice coasters, set next to each other. Sadly only one was going when I visited.

Horse Pedalo
Bobbejaanland

This is a cycle monorail, but it is technically a roller coaster, as it consists of a hill lift, and can then travel to the station under it's own power without any pedaling.

The second park of the trip was Plopsaland. This one was a nice surprise, I thought it would just be a bonus park to do along with Bobbejaanland and Walibi Belgium, but it turned out to be a really pleasant and enjoyable family park, and my favourite of the 3 Belgium parks I visited.

Due to a combination of technical problems, and it being horrendously busy my trip to Walibi Belgium wasn't that productive from a coaster counting perspective. Vertigo had already irreparably broken down (it's said it will be taken down soon) and I missed out on 3 other coasters as well.
