Numbers 51 to 100

This is an ongoing record of the roller coasters I have ridden. I've numbered every roller coaster to show the order which I rode them in. I've also put an extra number in brackets. This number is the coaster count of English roller coasters I've ridden, as I thought it would be interesting to keep track of that in this log as well.

Thunder Coaster

When I went up here as part of the tour I had already heard a lot of hype about it. I'm glad to say it lived up to all the hype. It is one of my all time favourite roller coaster. The best bit is the second drop, but the ride as a whole is still a brilliant package.

Wooden Wild Mouse
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
This was my main roller coaster holiday of 2002. It was a trip up to the European Coaster Club trip to Blackpool, followed by a day at Pleasureland Southport.
The highlights of the trip I felt where the one hours E.R.S on the Grand National, and the recreation of the Jim 'll fix it eat your pack lunch ride on the Revolution.

This was my first and due to it's recent closure my only trip to Pleasureland Southport. I'm glad I got to do the Cyclone a couple of times before it was taken down.

King Solomon's Mines

If I'd known at the time this was my 50th British Coaster I'd have tried to do them in a different order so my number 50 was either the Cyclone or the Traumatizer.

It was coaster counting which was one of the main reasons I first visited Adventure Island. It's now one of my favourite seaside amusement parks, and one I visit on a semi regular basis.

Orient Express
Dream Park (Egypt)

You may see this and wonder how I ended up riding a roller coaster in Egypt. Good question. It goes back back to when I was made redundant at the beginning of 2002. I was lucky enough to find a new job very quickly, and to receive a pay of, consisting of my redundancy, and quite a bit of unused holiday pay. I decided to use this money to fulfil a big ambition of mine, and book a holiday to Egypt, sightseeing down the Nile and around Cairo. It was a pretty full itinerary, but there was one afternoon free in Cairo, which I decided would be a good time to try out one of the local theme parks.

Suspended Looper
Dream Park (Egypt)

After getting a taxi to the park (which in Cairo is a white knuckle ride itself), I paid to get in and started to get around. It was definitely one of the more pleasant parks I've been to. There was one incident when I rode a Tidal Wave style splash boat ride, where after the splash one of the passengers climbed up onto the front of the boat and started dancing. In this country you could get chucked out of the park for doing that, here no one said anything.
It has a few good thrill rides, and two roller coasters, a mine train steel coaster, and this ride, which is a suspended looping coaster with a similar layout to the Traumatizer, although I felt it was running faster than the Traumatizer, although this might have been because I got a back seat on both occasions I rode this one.
Although it's not worth going to Cairo just to do this park , if you ever are in Cairo for whatever reason it's worth making the effort to try this park.

Botton's Amusement Park, Skegness

My main aim of this trip was to go to Fantasy Island, but I knew this one was here also so I managed to pay a quick visit to Botton's to do it's 4 coasters and a few other rides, despite getting delayed by engineering works on the train up.

I was hoping to get up to the 90 mark at Fantasy Island, unfortunately Jubilee Odyssey was closed on both days I went, as was the Big Apple kiddies coaster variation (it has a strawberry instead of an apple). I still managed to get on 3 new coasters, as well as a couple of other good rides.

Here I've finally got around to paying a visit to Legoland Windsor, including going on the two main coasters. At this point I think I know which coaster I want as my 100th so I did these two to help make sure I got to that number.

I'm glad to say I think I made a great choice for my 100th roller coaster. It's a great wooden roller coaster, and there was the huge bonus of doing it at the opening ceremony, before it was open to the public.
