The
mourning after the visit to Tivoli saw me with some free time to spend in
Copenhagen outside of Tivoli. One option was to see the Little Mermaid
statue, this was my third visit to Copenhagen, and I still haven't seen
it. Though I'm pretty convinced it's main purpose is to give souvenir
makers something to put on their souvenirs.
Instead, rather typically for me, if I'm not at a Theme park I often end
up at a zoo. I wasn't expecting much from the zoo's website and
advertising, but it turned out to be a pretty good and large zoo. It
included some big animals such as lion, tigers, chimps and elephants, and
also had some other nice sections as well. |

One of the main attractions is
a pig primate house, including Ruffed Tailed Lemurs, and a large number of
Monkeys, including these Baboons with babies. |

One of several Elephants at
the zoo. That crane in the background is part of the construction of a big
new Elephant House they're building. |

Next to the elephant house are
the Sea Lions. |

What Zoo would be complete
without Penguins? |
|

One of my favourite areas of
the Zoo was the tropical house. It had a amphibian and reptile house area,
and this walkthrough area where you can walk in the recreation of this
jungle with the birds. |
|

There is also an area with a
large number of butterflies, and a couple of hummingbirds to look out for. |

can get to the butterflies. |

Also in the tropical house are
a couple of crocodiles. |

The same building also has
another separate area which is home to a large group of Chimpanzees. |
