Disney
Halloween Trip 2007
Day 3: Night: Disney Halloween Party |
|
|
|
The evening and night of
Halloween saw the main reason for us making this trip, the chance to
attend the Disney Halloween celebrations. Having read about them in the
guide books we were looking forward to them, and we're glad to say they didn't disappoint. There
is some great entertainment laid on
including a special night time parade and a firework display, plus the atmosphere at the park
is absolutely great. |
|

We arrived in time to see the
Candlemagique light show in front of the castle. |
|

It's a spectacular light show
themed around fifteen candles held by the statues on the castle lighting
up for the fifteenth anniversary. |
|

It being Halloween, we
naturally headed towards the Phantom Manor. Luckily the queue was a
lot shorter than the previous day, with only a wait of about fifteen
minutes to get in. |
|

The gardens and queue area had
been especially decorated for Halloween. |
|

You might have noticed this
ride is called Phantom Manor, unlike other Disney parks where it's called
The Haunted Mansion. This is because they've chosen a name that's
recognisable in both French and English. |
|

Here we are at the doors of
Phantom Manor. |
|

After the Haunted Mansion we
headed to Big Thunder Mountain. At this point they had people at the
entrance of the queues for checking for the Halloween event wristbands. It
was quite funny seeing a large number of people being turned away who
didn't have Halloween wristbands being turned away from the ride as we
were allowed to go past. |
|

We got quite lucky on this
ride, as we got on as the fast pass closed, so they opened up a second
queue lane so we got on this ride very fast. We were also lucky to get a
place on the front seat of the train.
This is a coaster that's almost made to be ridden after dark, as it really
enhances the atmosphere of the theming, creating a great ride experience. |
|

Next we went to the Witches
Academy where a lot of the celebrations were taking place. |
|

We went to the Cowboy Cookout
Barbecue to get something to eat. We were a little disappointed to discover
there was no barbecuing involved, and it was just selling fast food, all
be it in a very well themed restaurant. |
