I think I
read somewhere that this ride was made in Adventure Islands own workshops,
the big building next to this ride and under the Barnstormer. This would
explain why I've never seen a ride like this anywhere before. With the
popularity of the rocking tug rides at the moment, this is a ride with
potential, as it aims at the same market.
It set up like a small Ferris wheel, where you sit facing outwards. The
seats are set up so they can rock left and right slightly. The wheel then
spins round at a reasonable speed. This causes the seats to rock at the top
and bottom of the wheel, and creates a noticeable, although pretty tame bit
of force when the gondola starts descending from the top of the wheel.
As a thrill ride for young kids it does a nice job, but the tame and
repetitive nature of the ride experience on offer means it only a novel
distraction for anyone older. |
