This is a
thrill ride that's pretty easy to overlook. It doesn't have the same
attention grabbing theming of a lot of Adventure Islands thrill rides, and
it doesn't match the Dragons Claw in terms of intense thrills. I was
expecting a generic fairground style family thrill ride. Consequently, it
came as a very pleasant surprise to find this is a very good family thrill
ride. It starts a bit
like a twist, with you sitting in one of 3 pods that spin round the end of
an arm, that's also spinning round a big central turntable all the arms spin
on. Then it deviates from the traditional twist as the arms of the ride lift
out until the pods are at a 90 degree angle to the ground. This creates a
good amount of G-Force which is pretty important. The lap bars main purpose
is to stop someone standing up, it's the G-Force which keeps you in your
seat.
This
creates a very strong feeling of exposure as the gondolas twist round there
axis's. This is not one to overlook, after the Dragon's Claw I'd say it's one of
Adventure islands best thrill rides. |
