This is a ride that at first I was disappointed with. As part of the makeover from the old Haunted House some of the models have been removed and some new ones added. This has created some problems with the theming in a few areas being a little on the sparse side, and some of the models feel that they've been placed at random, with little thought on how they fit in. If you base this ride on the models it feels like an average fairground ghost train, only with more money spent on it.

Luckily this ride soon grew on me, thanks to a big redeeming feature, the gun game element. Like Chessington's Tomb blaster this ride now features LED lights you can shoot as you go round in order to achieve as high a score as possible. I think it pulls off this gun game element better than the Tomb Blaster.

For a start the cars you go round in only take 5 people, as opposed to a large train of people on the Tomb Blaster. This combined with the faster pace this ride sets means it avoids the problem of too few targets for too many people on the Tomb Blaster.

Another nice element I was unaware of at first is the presence of two colours of lights. As well as lots of greens lights there are amber lights you can hit for extra points. This adds an extra strategic element, meaning you have to do more than shoot as many random lights as possible to get a high score.

Overall it's a good ride, that's very re-rideable, especially considering the queue for this doesn't get that big. I think it could be made even better with a little more attention to detail in the theming, and a few interactive elements such as bonus points for hitting a group of targets, or bonus targets that are only revealed after hitting another target first. Still, even without these features it's a fun ride you'll want to try a few times.
