A
few years ago the Samurai was remove from Chessington and relocated
to Thorpe Park. Now Chessington gets Thorpe Parks observation wheel.
I think we all know who got the better of that deal.
What struck me about this
ride is how they got permission to build it here. Chessington's
local council has been very difficult when giving permission to
build new rides, especially ones over a certain height. Yet this
ride is taller than the surrounding trees, and everything else
nearby. It was probably only allowed when it was classed as a gentle family observational
ride.
The ride itself is quite
good. It's only a large version of a Ferris wheel, but it does have
some excellent photogenic reviews of the park. It was a much better
ride than I thought it was going to be before going on it and a ride
I'd recommend having a go on. |
