Looking
at this ride, it seems to be in completely the wrong area of the park.
Even if you don't remember how it looked before it was painted blue it
still looks like a natural fit for the Pirate Cove area of the park,
with the pods you ride in all being shaped like ships. Currently
it's in aerial park section, but it would make sense to move this, to
allow for a new attraction in this area, it could do with another major
drawing ride, other than the Apocalypse.
This
ride is very similar to the traditional chairswing ride, but instead of
chairs they have the afore mentioned ships. Not only do they give the
ride a more unique look, they also create a more exposed feel. There
are no bars or anything else to hold you in place, just a belt which
only younger riders are compelled to wear. This accompanied by the
larger seats gives a feeling of much more freedom of movement when
compared to a normal chairswing. This means when the ships swing out as
they spin around the central tower, a thrilling sensation of speed and
openness is felt. This helps it stand out from a large pack of similar
rides, and creates a good family thrill ride.
