Tidal Waves Old Theming

I've noticed a slight pattern when reviewing the rides connected to the rides I remember

riding from over a decade ago. The roller coasters seem to be doing better than I thought they would, being better than I remember, the thrill rides seem to be the other way around.

The Tidal Wave, or as it used to be called the Waikiki Wave consists of two rotating arms that hold a long row of seats in between, a bit like the Ramesea's Revenge top spin at Chessington. Unlike a top spin though, the arms move differently instead of staying parallel, causing the seats to tilt and rock.

I remembered it as a quite good little family ride, meaning I was looking forward to trying it. However it didn't live up to how I remembered it. It wasn't a terrible ride, but it seemed as if it was merely going threw the motions, rather than losing the fun edge I remember it having. Whether this is because I've ridden better rides and my standards have risen, or of it was on a tamer ride program I don't know. It's still one I'd have a quick go on a quiet day, but not one I'd join a long queue for.
