The Disko ride is a ride that's become incredibly popular, especially at various seaside resorts around the country. It's on it's way to becoming part of the traditional line up along with the Waltzer and Twist. To be honest I can't help but wonder why. Yes, they are a good family thrill ride, but there are quite a few rides that do the same job as this one does, but better, and are less likely to be have tried by visitors at another park. I think one of the main factors is the small amount of space they take, making them appealing to a park with limited space like Clarence Pier.

This one does have a few things going for it to make it stand out from the crowd. It's location on the edge of the pier means you get some spectacular views out to sea during the ride. Another good thing is the ride program. In it the disc starts slowing down about halfway through, and just as you think that was a short ride it starts up spinning again in the opposite direction, adding a nice bit of variety to the ride program. It functions well as a fun family thrill ride, and has enough to offer to make it worth a go, even if you've tried other versions of this ride elsewhere.
