It's hard to believe now but there was a
time when this was the best ride at Thorpe Park. This was back in
2000 before Tussauds decided to go all out on thrill rides, and
white knuckle roller coasters. Nowadays it isn't one of the parks
major draws, but it still a nice example of one of the traditional
style of flume rides.
Shortly after
leaving the station you go into an enclosed tunnel where there's a
hill lift followed by a drop. It's actually quite a small drop, but
the fact your in the dark means it's more exciting than a drop this
small would normally be.
You then
follow a route outside. This part I think is the rides low point.
Although an effort has been made with the Wild West theming it feels
a little sparse and unimaginative. It could do with another model or
two to add a bit of humour and interest to this dull
point. |
