It's always interesting to compare similar types of ride, to decide which is the best version of it. The best twist ride, the one on Clarence Pier, Southsea. The best sea storm ride, the Happy Sailor I rode at the Foire Du Trone funfair in Paris. When it comes to Carousels, unless there's some special gimmick, or it's that time I got to treat one like a climbing frame (if you get in trouble or hurt trying this yourself it's your own fault, I don't accept any liability) it comes down to which Carousel is the most aesthetically pleasing. That would make the number one I've seen the one at Phantasia Land in Germany.

So how does this one rate? It's in very good condition with all the decorations feeling well maintained and fresh. It does feel a bit short though. It feels like it's just basic decoration with no feeling of extravagance which a good carousel needs. It does a good job of providing a nice kids ride, but it fails to act as a landmark or create an atmosphere like a more extravagant carousel would.
