Thinking about it, this is
quite an odd ride to be reviewing. Basically it's a row boat hire, not a
ride I traditionally review. It's not a great set of boats, they look on the
old and worn side, and the pivots for the oars aren't great, making rowing
awkward. When I was rowing the boat also kept drifting to one side, not
something I've had a problem with on a couple of other boats I've rowed.
Navigation problems aside this is a pleasant location in which to take out a
boat. The whole lake has a pleasant parkland feel, plus there are a number
of ducks and swans in residence, which you can
get pretty close to in the
boat. If you have a young child it's worth taking a loaf of bread or a
packet of biscuits along to feed the ducks as you go around. Although
the boats could do with some work it's still a very pleasant activity, and
weather permitting it's worth taking the time out to do. |
