Wicksteed Railway

This is a ride I've tried a couple of times on trips with the roller coaster club, and found it to be one of the most insane ride concepts going, and have been hoping to try a version in the U.K. for a while. It's a very simple ride. You sit in a little boat, that's slowly winched up to the top of a ski jump like structure. The boat is then released, and it runs down the ramp and jumps off the bottom and flies threw the air. That's right, the boat leaves the track and flies threw the air. it then lands with a big splash in the water, where the boat is then winched back to where it started.

The only other ride I could think of where it's designed to leave the track or the surface of the waterfall ride at Oakwood, and on that your only skimming over the surface of the water, not flying threw the air.

This sounds like a scary ride, and it is a little nerve racking on your first go. Once you've done that you'll find it's not to scary, but it is a lot of fun. You'll enjoy the highly novel and original experience, making this a ride for your to do list on a visit to the park.
